training updates...

So again, I've forgotten to update this stuff, so here I am at the end of the school year! Its been a rough year. Poor Wren, well, she took 6 months off and seemed to be doing better, but I was starting to train more. I sent her to my friend in North Carolina, only to have her start to be gimpy again. She freaked out and told me she didn't want to have her anymore and I only had 30 days to find her a home. Well...I ended up having to give her away. It broke my heart, I feel like a two-time failed horse owner. Truth is, she would be sitting in a field, wasting away, just to keep me from feeling like I was rejecting her, and that would also be cruel, when she could make someone else so happy. I don't know when or how I'll afford another horse, since she was a result of my lump summer pay, and my first horse was my present from college. I'll find a way...

I've managed to survive my first year of teaching middle school. What an experience! But I've gotten the kids to run 4 miles over the year, and got one student to run a 6:05 mile. I'm so impressed! It was a lot more difficult than I could ever have expected, and tiring. I'm most proud of doing my first ever field day, which went by without any problems. In fact, everyone said it was really good.

I survived, and now I need a break. Thank god for summer!
